The Rubik\u2019s cube has been holding the title of the most popular game in the world over the last half century as hundreds of millions of people have dared to take on the challenge of solving it over the years. Finally, when the more persistent ones managed to find the \u201ckey to its mysterious lock\u201d, the next question inevitably arose: <\/p>\n

\u201cHow much faster can I go\u201d?<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAnd that is how Speedcubing was born. The WCA (World Cube Association) was founded in 2004, establishing the Cube as an official sport and bringing Speedcubing competitions all around the globe. Even if its reputation did not rise in Greece until the following decade, today Speedcubing \u00a0is a widespread activity in our country, as multiple tournaments and meet-ups take place every year and the community keeps on adding members at a high rate.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tBut what is a Speedcubing tournament after all? A Speedcubing tournament can be 1 or 2 days, devoted to our favorite activity. An opportunity to practice our hobby, have tons of fun and become better at it every time, as we register our solving times and break our personal records. The Speedcubing world is one without rivalries and toxic competition, since everyone\u2019s common goal is to enjoy the tournament and socialize with the fellow cubers.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

There is no upper or lower age limit to participate in a WCA event, as both kids and adults compete together in a unified group. And while that may, at first glance, seem unfair to the younger competitors, prepare to be amazed at their astonishing accomplishments that bring, more often than not, the championship trophies in the grasp of their\u2026 tiny hands. <\/p>\n

Therefore, the only condition for anybody\u2019s participation in a Speedcubing competition is to bring their puzzle with them so that they can use it in each contest. And by \u201cpuzzle\u201d, we mean any of the 17 three-dimensional challenges that are official WCA events. The 3×3 Cube might still be the undisputed \u201cStar of the show\u201d but puzzles of different sizes (2×2, 4×4, 5×5 etc) and shapes (Pyraminx, Megaminx etc) have their own unique appeal, while the One-Handed and Blind-Folded contests make excitement reach a whole new level. Each contestant can choose which events interest them the most and try their luck against the timer. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAs the Greek Speedcubing community continues to expand, the more frequent become the competitions across the country. Cubestore.gr has and keeps on taking an integral part towards this direction, organizing and sponsoring dozens of tournaments from 2022 onwards, as well as the National Championships at the end of every year in Athens.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
